Catsharks, Reef Sharks, Swell Sharks, Hammerheads and Bonnetheads, Topes and Smoothhounds.

This order has the most species of sharks. Yet so many are virtually indistinguishable without a microscope, many believe that some species should be combined. They have the stereotypical body shape of the shark. These sharks have one anal fin, two spineless dorsal fins, five gill slits, and a nictitating membrane. They are very graceful and stealthy swimmers with extremely streamlined bodies. Mostly grey colored bodies with a slightly metallic sheen and lighter underbellies. They have large brains relative to their bodies. These species are ovoviviparous and viviparous.

Note: Many of these sharks, with their overly powerful jaws, are considered maneaters. Among them, the Tiger Shark will eat almost anything with much aggression.
